Sedona wedding spots in the red rocks do not require permits or reservations unless you choose one of the State Parks. For a simple, last-minute wedding, choose one of the other locations.
Accessibility…. Some locations are an easy drive, easy parking, and easy walking. Those are sometimes the most crowded, too. Other locations such as Merry Go Round Rock require a high clearance, 4-wheel drive vehicle (which we can rent for you) and/or extra time to get to and from the wedding, which adds costs to your Sedona wedding location.
Crowds…! There are some times of year when Sedona has lots of tourists. Ask us where you can have a more private wedding in the red rocks. We’ve lived here for 28 years and know all the best spots! (Hint–Don’t choose Bell Rock or Airport Vortex unless you are looking for a sunrise ceremony…)
Time of day for your wedding: Most of the Sedona elopement locations look fabulous for wedding photography late in the day, and not-so-fabulous earlier in the day because of how the light hits the rocks. There are only a few spots that we recommend for earlier in the day for great wedding photography. If you prefer to get married in the morning so you can spend the rest of the day playing in Sedona, let us know and we’ll recommend one of the locations that has the sun on the rocks in the morning. Prefer to spend the afternoon on prepping hair and make-up, waiting for the glow on the rocks that photographers refer to as “magic hour?” Let us know, and we can suggest some of our favorite Sedona wedding locations.
