Do I need a permit to get married in the red rocks of Sedona?
No, permits are not required for weddings in the Forest Service unless you have a group of 75+. You are not allowed to bring chairs (except for an elderly or infirm guest), rugs, arches or loud music.
How to choose a location?
If you have more than a couple cars, do not choose a location such as Bell Rock, Baby Bell, Yavapai Vista, Airport Vortex or Cathedral Rock, unless it’s off-season or earlier in the day. These all have limited parking with no street parking so you may miss that perfect light while your guests are waiting for a parking space. Slick Rock can also be crowded, but there is street parking so you can always park there… you just may have to walk farther. If you love one of these locations and it’s a weekend during spring or fall, hire a van or shuttle to transport your guests.
If anyone in your party does not walk well, do not choose Slick Rock, Bell Rock, Yavapai Vista, Airport Vortex or any of the adventure locations.
How can I reserve a location in the Forest Service?
You may not reserve a location for a wedding in the Forest Service, except at one location. You may reserve a wedding slot-time at Red Rock Crossing, one of the locations we go to. The reservations do not guarantee privacy, but you will be the only wedding there at that time. A reserved location has a $138- $348 fee depending on how many people you have in your party, but you have guaranteed parking at a gorgeous location and will not be dealing with another wedding trying to get the best spot at the same time.
Can I order just an officiant or just a photographer?
Yes, we offer items that are broken down with separate pricing. Costs are transparent, not bundled into a package. If you only need an officiant, that’s what you order. If you need witnesses, we can reserve them for you. For a package with officiant, photographer and a witness, we price them separately, so you can see what each costs, which helps you prioritize and stay in your budget.
Where can I get my AZ Wedding License?
Arizona Wedding Licenses are available from any county in AZ at a Superior Courthouse. The closest one to Sedona is the Yavapai County Courthouse in Camp Verde, about a 40 minute drive from Sedona. See our info/referrals page.
Can I save money by choosing less popular times?
Weekday specials — Monday through Thursday; also mornings and early afternoons allow you to order Unedited Photo Packages which are less expensive. See our Packages page.
What are your Package Price-Points?
$295-$395 — Officiant only (price depends on location day-of-week)
$395-$495 — For a simple wedding with officiant and two witnesses.
$445-$545 — Officiant, two witnesses and Phone-pics
$790 – $1090– Officiant and edited photography
$100 per half hour for additional edited photography time.
Are there any taxes or other fees?
No, there are no taxes or any other fees (if you choose one of the free, non-reservable locations). If you choose a reservable location, add the location reservation fee.
What if I want privacy and chairs for my guests but don’t have a big budget?
Hotel ballrooms and Sedona’s bigger wedding venues can create the wedding of your dreams and cost thousands of dollars. If you do not need a traditonal “reception” but want more traditional seating in a private outdoor location with red rock views, there are a few places in town that offer just that. We can reserve these for you; additional cost for one of these venues would be $1200-2000 on top of the officiating and photography fees, so your budget would become $2500-$4000. (You would still have to make dinner plans for you and your guests if you chose one of these venues).
If you have a bigger budget, you may want to contact a wedding planner. We are not wedding planners… we offer more inexpensive options.
